MEDICAL TRANSPORT SERVICE

If you are housebound or registered disabled and would find it difficult to get to a hospital appointment, you may be eligible for Patient Transport. Please contact reception if you think you may be eligible and need to book transport for a first hospital appointment.

If you do not fall in to this criteria, but would still struggle to take public transport, or don't have a friend or relative who is able to take you in their car, a medical transport service supported by Eastleigh Borough Council (and Hampshire County Council in Bursledon, Hamble-le-Rice and Hound) exists to provide transport to medical appointments.

This service operates seven days a week in most of the Borough and is available if you are either attending a medical appointment or visiting friends or relatives in hospital. This service will try to accommodate wheelchair users.

Around 20,000 trips have been made by the service since its launch and we have now introduced new ways to book your journey which makes the service easier to use for those who are hard of hearing or have difficulty using the telephone.

This service costs between £3.50 and £15.00 depending on the hospital, medical centre or GP surgery you are visiting.
