PATIENT PARTICIPATION GROUP
What is the Patient Participation Group?
The role of the Patient Participation Group (PPG) is to strengthen the relationship between patients and the practice. The PPG is a ‘critical friend’; PPG members work in partnership with the practice to offer the patient perspective on services provided, giving constructive feedback. The PPG also works to improve communication, encourage patients to take more responsibility for their health, and provide practical support.
How can you get involved?
The PPG Committee organises Health Initiative evenings with expert speakers which are open to all patients, and an AGM in September where Committee members are elected. Any patient can nominate themselves. These events are promoted on posters at the surgeries, through the Newsletter (see below) and on Facebook. To make sure you are kept informed, check that the practice has your up to date e-mail address and mobile phone number. You can also follow Park and St Francis Surgery on Facebook.
To contact the Committee, e-mail hiowicb-hsi.stfrancissurgery-ppg@nhs.net or put a note in the Comments box in the waiting room addressed to PPG Committee Chair.
